I have been teaching Sunday School for over forty years, lecture style. I was one of those “Dump Truck Teachers” (chapter one). I would study all week and then on Sunday morning I would try to dump everything I had studied on my learners. It wasn’t working. Thanks to George and “Teaching That Bears Fruit,” we now share information that “we” have learned, both from study and experience. And it does make a difference!” Clarence Cooley, Sunday School Teacher, Acworth, GA
“I love it (Teaching That Bears Fruit) and have recommended it to several other folks I know. We need people who will continue to remind us of the “how to’s” so that with work can be done effectively and efficiently. Your book has done that – and more!” Jerri Herring, Christian education consultant, author, president of B.A.C.E., Birmingham, AL
I am reading your excellent book. Thank you for writing this incredible resource to facilitate the Great Commission. Your book is the most concise and teachable “Teacher Education” book that I have seen. Dr. Jimmy Wilson, Minister of Adult Education, First Baptist Church Loganville, GA and Professor, Luther Rice Seminary
Teaching That Bears Fruit is an indispensable book for anyone who loves to teach the Bible. It focuses on the important issue of teaching with kingdom impact as its focus. It aims to help the teacher communicate God’s word in such a manner that lives will be changed.” Ken Hemphill, Director for Church Planting and Revitalization, North Greenville University
“This is a great resource. Everyone should have a copy!” Tim Smith, Sunday School Open Groups Ministry Leader, Georgia Baptist Convention
In this thorough treatment of the art of teaching, George Yates stresses the importance of not just telling, but teaching as Jesus taught for results and life change. This excellent book will help the Bible teacher see lives changed as these principles are applied. The new and experienced teacher will benefit from this book.” Terry Herald, Senior Associate Pastor, Whitesburg Baptist Church, Huntsville, AL
Every new and experienced Bible study teacher would benefit from reading this book. It explains how to get your message across to your students in a way they will understand and remember. George has incorporated many points that as a teacher you can “hang your hat on” to better equip you in sharing God’s word to others. David Suddath, Director of Church Development, Noonday Baptist Association, Atlanta GA
I have used your book (Teaching That Bears Fruit) in helping me prepare lessons for my sunday school class. I just wanted to say thank you again. What I try to do each week is begin studying Sunday afternoon, with my students in mind and God as my inspiration. I get advice (direction) from (God as) I pray for my students each day and I call them… we put on a talent show for Esther, we can see how tall Goliath is because a neighboring fence is over nine feet tall. My class has changed since attending the Spring Training and reading your book. It is a different class than it was before. Lynn Rios, teacher 4th-6th grade, Heart of the Valley Baptist Church, San Jose, CA
